The first recording to be made at Cosy Studios!
Even before we'd finished building the kitchen, MC Sketchy and composer Ibou Tall made themselves at home and introduced a flock of different musicians to the enviroment.
An immediate challenge for our engineer Bob who set about organising the projects, printing scores and playing with his newly built workspace!
The album, sets the scene of Sketchy's coming of being and provides a soundscape naration of keys points in his self development and spiritual awakening.
The cover design was provided by Alastair Harlow @ Cosy studios.
Check it out in detail on his portfolio.
Sketchy’s debut album ‘Nobody’s Prefect’ presents a powerful fusion of UK rap backed with visually evocative orchestral instrumentation, adapting funky jazz and lyrical story telling. Each track is a fun and engaging episode of Sketchy’s experiences of growing up, set largely around the school that he attended. Employing plenty of humour, he narrates us through the album’s animated storylines, offering a heart-felt consolation while addressing serious issues such as family break ups, social insecurities, bullying, drugs and more. With uplifting, moral and somewhat spiritual solutions, Nobody’s Prefect encourages a positive awareness; shining a light on these subjects with a thoroughly upbeat and optimistic perspective.
